7/20/2009 · Both the Zetec and Duratec use a returnless fuel system. The transmission is not the same and will not bolt up. You will need to find a complete wrecked vehicle to do a swap, and there will be a lot involved because you’ll have to remove the wiring harness and change out the ECU as well as reprogram the other computers to work with the new ECU.

9/9/2009 · My neighbour is putting a Zetec into his Lotus Elan. I had a look, and discovered that the Duratec has intake and exhaust on the same side as the original Opel engine, but the the Zetec is opposite (when in a RWD application). If anyone is still considering this swap, it would seem the Duratec would be the easier swap. jtb, 4/29/2007 · then yes, the Zetec would be superior to the Duratec. There are more SC kits for the Zetec because it is very difficult to fit a supercharger under the hood of the Duratec due to lack of room. There are more turbo kits because the Zetec has been common equipment in the Focus for much longer, and was common equipment in other vehicles before the Focus.
